Assessments to Support Production of New Opioid Addiction Therapy

A virtual pharma company requested that Covectra provide a number of services to help this company prepare for the production of a new product for opioid addiction therapy. These services included:

Development of detailed outline of services related to the selection of a contract packaging company for this virual pharma company. Three candidate companies were chosen, and Covectra did a detailed analysis of the capabilities of each company. Finally, Covectra set up a final meeting of the two finalists in which each company presented its capabilities and approach toward packaging the pharma company’s product. Two representatives of Covectra were asked to serve as members of the evaluation committee that made the final decision as to which contract packager was selected.
Covectra was also asked by that same company to conduct a search for and evaluation of candidate companies that could test the foil package that was used to package the oral thin film product. Covectra was then tasked to prepare a recommendation for the company that was contracted to conduct a test of the foil package to ensure the integrity of the product.

Serialization Line Customization to Improve Production Line Process

A company that was supporting a manufacturer of infant formula in the Netherlands contracted Covectra to supplement its own capabilities to serialize its infant formula product that was to be shipped to China. This project was behind schedule when Covectra was hired as a sub-contractor, and Covectra was able to use its experience and expertise gained in the pharma industry to support the automation company in the customization of a serialization line for the Dutch company. Of critical importance was the expertise that Covectra’s personnel provided in the selection and installation of the ink jet printing system for this production line. Covectra personnel also contributed significantly to the customization of the serialization system that was developed for this Dutch company’s infant formula product.
